The closure is fast and secure, performed using a micro-adjustable BOA IP1 dial in an Overcurve pattern. Overcurve is a sneaker construction with a stepped collar that wraps around the ankle, tracing the natural misalignment of the ankle's two bony protrusions: the lateral and medial. The result is an asymmetrical shape, with the lateral penalties of the shoe curving over the foot from the outside to the inside. The new R4 outsole, moderately stiff, achieves a balance between comfort and pedaling efficiency that makes it a true all-rounder. The R4 has a new, even lower profile and is structurally optimized with a composition that includes 15% injected carbon fiber. R4 outsole provides effective ventilation and internal channeling for temperature management. The cleat position is slightly set back compared to traditional settings, to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee compression. Especially suitable for very aggressive forward aerodynamic positions.
