The Ultegra 11-speed chain is part of the Hyperglide (HG-X) series and provides smooth, reliable shifting. This chain is also coated with the SIL-TEC surface treatment, which increases durability.
HG-X chains feature a directional design with specifically shaped inner and outer plates to optimize chainring and cassette shifting. Outer plate developed to reduce the chances of chain snagging.
The internal face is developed to improve contact with the gears and provide smoother changes under high load conditions, resulting in efficient pedaling, greater rigidity and a nearly silent ride. The hollow link screws reduce weight considerably, and durability is guaranteed by the chrome treatment of the link screws and the heat treatment of the rollers, screws and plates. The open design of the inner face of the links allows more mud to be removed, while increasing the durability of the chain.
Sil-Tec surface treatment technology (PTFE plating) for smooth operation and increased durability. Zinc alloy with silver finish offers the highest corrosion resistance.
