Performance in prolonged exercise or high intensity intermittent exercise depends on the availability of muscle glycogen. Therefore, it is important to maximize carbohydrate stores before a competition while ensuring that carbohydrates are consumed during prolonged efforts to replenish energy stores for our muscles. The Etixx Natural Oat Sport Bar is suitable for both before and during exercise. Before exercise, it can be used to supplement and maximize carbohydrate stores. This should be combined with your carbohydrate-rich diet before a competition or heavy training to ensure the load of your energy sources. During prolonged endurance or high intensity exercise it is also important to take carbohydrates to replenish the fuel reserves that you are expending . If carbohydrates are not consumed during prolonged or intense efforts, your muscle glycogen stores will be depleted after approx. 90 min.
The amount of carbohydrates you should take during exercise depends on the duration of the session or competition.

  • Exercises <1h (15): it is not necessary to consume carbohydrates during exercise.
  • Exercises 1-2h: 30 g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise (~ 1 bar)
  • Exercises 2-3h: 60 g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise (~ 2 bars)
  • Exercises> 2.5-3h: up to 90 g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise (~ 3 bars)
