The Fresh Foam 980 is one of the most advanced running shoes on the market, but oddly enough it doesn't feel any different than a classic sneaker.
The 980 has been designed with the same software to adapt to the biomechanics of the runner in the most efficient way possible and, instead of using different types of materials with different densities and shapes, what has been used here is a simple material that will give us the stability, the touch, the transition and the cushioning that we need when we need it. And all this thanks to a great job in the geometry of the chassis.
After an exhaustive study of different biomechanics and impacts, all the data were entered into the program and it set the guidelines to follow, both in volume and in shape, to design the best possible midsole. This work is easily visible with the naked eye, the 980 has a curious chassis finish, based on hexagons, which gives it a snakeskin appearance.
What these shoes provide is that they maintain an efficient technique in the race since their drop allows the landing of half a foot perfectly, in fact, they even encourage it but all this with an added touch and cushioning that are highly appreciated by many people.
